The Waiting Game
03:35
|
|||
Back to the underground, where the fires all began
A fracture in the motive of our lives
A lost cause and deep regrets
Measured out in cigarettes,
A silent riot in the mind of our own time
I never wanted to break away from you
But there’s hesitation in the way you say my name
“I’m sorry” shouldn’t be the only thing that comes to mind,
But it’s all I have
And when I see your face across a busy street It will take me back to when we first met
Just a grainy photo (December was)
Of a bowling alley (too cold for us)
Another cut
Another fucked up love story
I Never wanted to break away from you
But there’s hesitation in the way you say my name
“I’m sorry” shouldn’t be the only thing that comes to mind,
But it’s all I have
Memories have teeth
And I’ve lost enough blood
Memories have teeth
And I’ve lost enough blood
From you
I Never wanted to break away from you
But there’s hesitation in the way you say my name
“I’m sorry” shouldn’t be the only thing that comes to mind, its all I have

Darling, Dearest, Dead.
03:54
|
|||
The city smells like you tonight.
I can feel you in the air,
I can taste you in the stars,
Are you with me?
The music paints your picture bright.
Eyes wide shut and in despair,
Eyes open and in too far,
Are you breathing?
Breathing.
We keep waiting
We keep chasing
And all my kings and heroes have gone
And I don’t look up anymore.
We keep waiting
We keep chasing ghosts
Hollowed out in misery,
I’m a ghost who haunts the night.
Murdered in the first degree,
I’m setting fire.
Are you unholy?
Are you holding on to me?
Are you folding into the scent of something new?
We keep waiting
We keep chasing
And all my kings and heroes have gone
And I don’t look up anymore.
We keep waiting
We keep chasing ghosts
We keep waiting,
like the castaways and the unlucky
We keep chasing
the past until the present comes clear
We keep waiting,
like the castaways and the unlucky
We keep chasing
the past until the present comes clear.
Fuck the world,
I’ll make my own luck
We keep waiting
We keep chasing
And all my kings and heroes are dead
And I don’t look up anymore.
We keep waiting
We keep chasing ghosts

Coming Down
04:04
|
|||
When days turn into weeks into years,
We’ll tell each other lies just to hide our fears and all our little secrets. You’re out looking for something more,
I’m here, strung out, lying on the bathroom floor.
And I feel like a crashing plane,
Coming down over you.
Coming down, coming down
Coming down, coming down
Coming down, coming down
We used to talk about running away from here,
The clock is ticking faster and faster.
You’re just a tourniquet; I let you in again.
You destroyed me, I said sorry.
You feel like a million weights,
Dragging me down and down
Coming down, coming down
Coming down, coming down
Coming down, coming down
When days turn into weeks into years,
We’ll tell each other lies just to hide our fears and all our little secrets. We’re all out looking for something more.

Neverafter
03:49
|
|||
“Shut up, shup up, shut up” she said,
“your words are killing me.”
After prom night,
Dancing in the moonlight, lost in a lifetime.
I held your hand tight,
My heart beat in sync with the fireflies.
I looked in your eyes,
Lost in an ocean, drowning in slow motion.
You kissed me good night,
With a wink and a smile, you brought me back to life.
“shut up, shut up, shut up” she said,
“your words are killing me.”
goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
she said “I’ll see you neverafter.”
It feels like love for the first time,
But these old scars never seem to fade.
I see constellations in your eyes.
“I’m sorry, it’s getting late. I’m afraid I have to go.”
“shut up, shut up, shut up” she said,
“your words are killing me.”
goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
she said “I’ll see you neverafter.”
“shut up, shut up, shut up”
Take me back to those summer fears.
(won’t you shut up, won’t you shut up?)
Take me back to those worn out years.
(won’t you shut up, oh please shut up?)
When we were good enough to fall in young love
Where we had everything that we never, ever wanted.
Na, na, na,
I don’t want go home right now.
Don’t let me leave, I just want to stay the night and watch the sunrise.
I don’t want to go home right now,
Don’t let me leave, I just want to stay the night and watch the sun rise.
Don’t make me go home right now, I don’t want to leave.
Just let me stay the night and watch the sunrise.
She said “Your words are thrilling,
but I’ll take my life and still this love burns on,
Neverafter.
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye

Autopsy

Cut me deep, cut me clean
Don’t leave me open.
For the last, for the first time I understand
What it means to hold on too long,
What it means to let go.
Smile for the pictures,
It’s all over now.
Smile for the end.
Light a candle for the dead years, love.
Smile for the end.
I held you so close, dear
Like a candle against a raging sea
And I would never let you extinguish.
I loved you like a fire, but you prayed for rain
So, you’ll never feel warm again, another blush of skin
Just the bitter cold.
Smile for the pictures,
It’s all over now.
Smile for the end.
Light a candle for the dead years, love.
Smile for the end.
Smile for the pictures,
It’s all over now.
Smile for the end.
Light a candle for the dead years, love.
Smile for
Smile for the pictures, smile for the end
Smile for the pictures, smile for the end
Smile for the pictures, smile for the end
(cut me deep, cut me clean. Don’t leave me open.)
Smile for the pictures, smile for the end
(cut me deep, cut me clean. Don’t leave me open.)
Smile for the pictures, smile for the end (Held you so close)
(cut me deep, cut me clean. Don’t leave me open.) (like a candle against the sea)
Smile for the pictures, (held you so close)
Smile for the end.
